Zanzibar

On Friday, we headed off to Zanzibar for the weekend. We flew from Dar to Stonetown and then got a taxi to the east coast village of Bweju. Our first weekend away with Eva. Loads of pictures as you can imagine, but here are just three. Milestones this weekend included Eva's first swim in the sea (Indian ocean is a bit more hospitable than the atlantic off Donegal or the North Sea off Wemeldinge; she enjoyed it a lot), first flight on a tiny plane and her first encounter with baby loving Zanzibari mamas; scary...I want to go home! The hotel was fine, but there was a lot of strange russling in the corner of our room during the night. We thought it might be a mouse or something, but it turned out just to be Eva practicing her gymnastic moves in her sleep. Olympics 2024 here we come. Since we got to Dar, Eva has been sleeping in her own room and so we had not realised the extent of her noctural habits.

  • There's an airport in Stone Town? Surely you mean helipad?

You know the one, it's next to the dry ski slope, opposite the mulitplex.

    Yours pedantically,

    Jannie

p.s. let's see more snaps of Paul in that slinky hat and shirt swimwear combo. Mmmmmm. Pure Irish beef, I'd say.
